Rep. Olver Signs Bahrain Arms Sale Resolution

Congressman John Olver (D-MA) has joined fifteen other cosponsors by signing on to H.J. Res. 80, which calls for “limiting the issuance of a letter of offer with respect to a certain proposed sale of defense articles and defense services to the Kingdom of Bahrain,” originally introduced by Rep. James McGovern (D-MA).

The resolution limits the proposed arms sale, requiring the Secretary of State to “certify to the Committee on Foreign Relations of the Senate and the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives” that the Government of Bahrain “is conducting good faith investigations and prosecutions of alleged perpetrators responsible for the killing, torture, arbitrary detention, and other human rights violations committed since February 2011,” among other measures ensuring the Government of Bahrain’s compliance with international human rights standards.

US made weaponary is used to crackdown brutally entirely peaceful protestors demanding equality, justice, abolistion of racial and sectarian discrimination, equal opportunities for all regardless of colour, religion, sect or origin, fair distribution of the country’s wealth. Unfortunately your weapons are used to murder our innocent people not let alone systematic torture and msltreatment of Shitte citizens. We are not driven by any foreign country, we are instead demanding dignity and respectful life. Many thanks for supporting our oppressed people.

Dear Sent. JohnOlver and Mr. James McGovern

Please pass the folliwng message to the gentlemen.

I am appealing to you from the heart of Bahrain (not belong to any party) in the name of Jesus to show mercy to the Bahraini peaceful poor people to save them from this savage family (Al-Khalifa) who robbed their rights and property brutalizing them notoriously for 230 years. If Americans as a superpower stand to defend the poor, their names and interests will certainly be respected. On the night of 16th December 2011 commited a massacre in Alshakoora village. The civilian (Baltajia) with swords and sharp knives they hit and injured without mercy many youths. Ironically, those deprived Shiite demanding peacefully for their legitimate rights and attacked by the regime mercenaries (Syrian, Ymanis, India, Palaouchis etc) and the U.S. and UK prop them up without taking care of the victims.

Thank you Rep. Olver. This government cannot be supported in what they are doing to the citizens of Bahrain. They constantly say they will introduce reforms but nothing happens. Thousands of workers were sacked and only 180 were reinstated. And they were returned to work at much lower levels. Now the governement is claiming credit for work the unions are doing. They have been trying to disband the unions. This is a corrupt and abusive government. Thank you for recognising that.

Good that US do recognise the true situation in Bahrain. After BICI, nothing at all of any substance has been done. That is proved by the recent team from UN who visited & the resultant report given by Navi Pillay http://goo.gl/flmcm
