Five Bahraini Police Officers Charged with Torture
According to Bahrain’s Information Affairs Authority, five police officers will tried in connection with the alleged torture of a detainee who later died in custody. Top prosecutor Nawaf Hamza said in a statement that two unnamed officers have been charged with torture and mistreatment and three others with negligence for failure to report the incident. Hamza also said officials wrapped up an investigation into an alleged Iranian-linked terror cell and plan to put the eight suspects on trial next month. Meanwhile, riot police fired tear gas to disperse hundreds of protesters among thousands demanding the government’s resignation. Protesters carried the Bahraini flag as they marched for nearly four miles along a highway. After the march, several hundred protesters gathered at Pearl Roundabout, prompting police to seal off the road and release clouds of tear gas.
Additionally, the government announced a zero-tolerance policy toward “torture, inhuman treatment and degrading detention” in a statement released by the state-run Bahrain News Agency. The policy stems from the recommendations made by the BICI report. Finally, Rabbi Marc Schneier, VP of the World Jewish Congress, met with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Schneier said that he welcomed a suggestion by King Hamad to host a gathering of Jewish and Muslim clerics in Bahrain in 2012.

Happy New Year (2012
“The wandering Arabs are harder in disbelief and hypocrisy and more likely to be ignorant of the limits which Alla hath revealed unto His messenger.” Virtually, holy verse may apply on Al-Khalifa family.
I would like to extend the following to the U.S. Government on the Bahrain situation:
It would be wise for the U.S to look for their interests by helping the protesters of Bahrain rather than supporting Al-Khalifa regime, which has been decayed and hated. The whole shiite has conviction that they are unable to lead any way of life with them.
The rift is widening phenomenally and there will be no potential treatment.
Therefore, please reconsider your view promptly and do not let those Bedouin kill the innocent on your behalf and there will no will on both sides for any compromise or consensus.
Please be guided accordingly.
