Bahrain Breaks Up Terror Cell
Bahrain officials have uncovered a terrorist cell plotting attacks against several vital sites inside Bahrain. General Tareq al-Hasan said on Saturday four members were detained in Qatar, and were being sent to Bahrain as a fifth suspect was arrested in Manama. The Bahrain News Agency reported that “that the suspects were targeting the King Fahd Causeway, Ministry of Interior building, kingdom of Saudi Arabia Embassy and individuals.”
Qatari Authorities questioned suspects and revealed the “suspects had illegally left Bahrain after incited to head to Iran through Qatar and Syria to establish a group that carries out armed terrorist operations in Bahrain.” Qatari authorities also noted that the suspects had large sums of money and had a document and a computer with information on vital establishments in Bahrain. With allegations of Iranian involvement, Bahrain has often blamed Iran for inciting the unrest in the country that started in February.
