POMED’s Weekly Wire for May 16 is now available. This week’s edition includes coverage of U.S. officials’ tougher line on Syria, as well as ongoing violence in that country. In Yemen, violence erupted again as President Saleh continued his refusal to sign a GCC-proposed transition agreement. In Congress, a resolution condemning human rights violations in Syria was introduced, and hearings were held on the deteriorating state of human rights in Iran and Bahrain.
