UNDEF Funding for Civil Society

reports that the
U.N. Democracy Fund (UNDEF) will open the call for applications to its Fourth Round of Funding on November 16th. UNDEF seeks to “strenghten the voice of civil society and help ensure the participation of all groups in democratic process.” Typical funding ranges from U.S. $50,000 to $500,000.
UNDEF is calling for applications that will promote:
- democratic dialogue and support for constitutional processes
- civil society empowerment, including the empowerment of women
- civic education and voter registration
- citizen’s access to information
- participation rights and the rule of law in support of civil society
- transparency and integrity
